He didn't like the way L was looking at him right now, a thought that swirled around in his mind until it felt as though a torrential wave was crashing down on him, obliterating all reasoning as he simply sat rooted to the spot. Just as soon as he'd lifted his eyes and looked L in the face he dropped his gaze once more, his expression as torn as he felt. That L only increased his grip on his wrist made him even more flightier than before, breathing hard as he struggled to grapple onto some semblance of composure.
"Then you should know that you need to let me go," he said, his tone laced with panic even despite his best efforts to hide it. Not even giving L the chance to reply, he made to stand up and tug himself away from the other's grip.
